This is: cable company
Cable Company is an LA-based indie-jazz pop band started and fronted by second-generation Chicano musician/poet, Andy Gallardo. Mixing influences of garage rock, city pop, and acid jazz, Cable Company conjures up unique chord progressions along with bittersweet nostalgic lyrics that thread between themes such as love, loss, mortality, morality, and inner introspection. The spectrum of thematic motifs within Cable Company can range from something as serious as a shattered friendship to comical lyrics of a first date gone wrong. While Andy is currently with no backing band in the Bay Area, he ultimately is still able to bring an unforgettable performance to his audience with just a sampler and his trusty Stratocaster.
A number of venues of which Andy has performed at with a multitude of artists range from:
- Whiskey a Go-Go (Los Angeles)
- Bootleg Theater (Los Angeles)
- The Canyon (Santa Clarita)
- Five Star Bar (Los Angeles)
- UC Berkeley’s Bowles Hall (Berkeley)
Amidst the pandemic, when venues remained closed, Andy curated outdoor art and music events in collaboration with local bands, artists, and performers to create a safe community where fellow youth creatives can support each other.
Andy has community engagement experience doing sound for events and is currently employed at San Francisco State as an AV Technician. Andy is earning a BA in Creative Writing and is expected to graduate in June 2023.
